17.04.23. tour to the Mir Arab Madrasah

 Today we went to the Mir Arab Madrasah. It is located in The old part of the city near Minaret Kalyan. This place is very beautiful I like observing and listening the history of Madrasah From My friends.

The Mir-i Arab Madrasa is one of three buildings comprising the Po-i-Kalyan ensemble in the heart of Bukhara, along with the 12th century Kalyan minaret and the 16th century Kalyan mosque. It was constructed by the Shaibanid ruler Ubaydullah-khan (r. 1534-39) who was the first of the Shaibanids to make Bukhara his primary capital. Its name, Mir-i Arab means "Prince of Arabs" and now many students take a religious knowledge from madrassah.



To one side, the most beautiful madrasah loomed the Mir-i-Arab Madrasah. Behind the arch entrance, two turquoise domes dominated the skyline behind it. It was still in operation after all these years, and students came and went talking with each other in excited tones. We were not able to enter this madrasah but we took some pics there

By sitting there we saw a lots of people like artists and musicians. Here some works of young artists.


 We had a big company of tourists amd  members of other groups. After exploring in every fine detail of this masterful piece of art.
 So that was the end of our 6th day of practice.

Day 1. Labi-Hauz

      Today was the first day of our practice lesson.Our journey started at 8,in the morning. We meandered to one of the city’s centers, the Labi Hauz, or the gathering place around the pond. We had 2 guilds-our groupmates(Salomat and Nozima),who prepared for telling the history of Labi -Hauz and thanks to them,today we knew that:" Man-made ponds, such as this, were once a central vein in Uzbeki life. These ponds provided water and a cool place to relax. Most of them were removed by the Soviets".At the same place we did questionary with guilds ,while they told us a fascinating history of ancient pond. After that we walked around, passing ice cream carts and bronze flower pots and statues , we entered the madrasah. Today Nozima told us the meaning of this word :Madrasah -is the Arabic word for a school or an education center. They once filled the Silk Road as ideas and thoughts in science, astronomy, maths, and culture journeyed from city to city. While Salomat was retelling,w

Day 4:Art museum

  Today was our 4 day of practice, and our aim for today was art museum.Right in the centre of Bukhara but very low key, if you are not looking for it you would just pass by. But for a pittance of an entrance fee you see lots of pretty contemporary quality regional art - some of it illustrating the local ways of life during Soviet times, some clearly Soviet propaganda style, but just as interesting for it. In fact it was one of the highlights of our visit to the city, partly because no one else was there, at one time we were the only visitors. Don’t think that the first room/gallery you go in is the only one. The gallery extends to many other rooms and adjacent buildings. This is not great art, but gives a real flavour of Uzbekistan during the Soviet period. Day 5:Blacksmith.

 Our practise is continuing. It is the fifth day of practice. Firstly,we have started to learn about the museums in Bukhara. Each of them has its own role in the history of Bukhara. By searching from the internet,books and with help of our duties coursemates,students are getting more information about the museums. Today I have learnt Bukhara museum of blacksmith’s work. In 1992, the blacksmiths' museum-workshop, the only one of its type in Uzbekistan, was set up in the 16th - century Kulyuta karavansarai.The museum-workshop is a living museum. Not only could one learn there the history of the ancient blacksmith's craft, but also participate in making blacksmith products. Usto Shokir Kamolov, who comes of a family of blacksmiths, is the senior researcher of the museum.The Museum of blacksmith's work displays the Charter of the workshop of Bukhara masters. There is an operating smithy in the museum. One of the anvils served to great-grandfather of still working master here. U

  Today was the 2nd day of our practice We went to the place which is considered as  one of the holy places in Islamic World. And it is  Baha ad-Din  Nakshbandi complex The Baha ad-Din complex is a cult ensemble located in the suburban area of Bukhara. The complex served as the center of the Naqshbandi Dervish order. Its head, Sheikh Bahauddin Naqshband, died in 1389. and he was buried near the village of Kasri Arifon (now in the Kagan district) near Bukhara. Nadir Divan Begi madrasah

Today our practise was held in one of the most historical and beautiful part of the Bukhara, In Nadir DivanBegi Madrash Nadir Divan-Beghi Architectural Ensemble  consists of a madrasah, a  khanaka  Sufi hospice and monastery, and a  hauz  pond. The ensemble was constructed by order of the vizier  Nadir Divan-Beghi  who served for  Imam Quli-Khan , one of the most powerful rulers of  Ashtarkhanid  dynasty. Nadir Divan-Beghi Madrasah  was built in 1622. It is located in the eastern part of the  Lyab-i Hauz Square . The vizier had initially planned and constructed the building as a caravanserai but  Imam Quli-Khan  unexpectedly called it a  madrasah  at the opening ceremony. That was why they had to build on the portal, façade side towers, loggias, and the second floor with  hujra  cells for students to stay in. 01.11.23 Gavkushon Ensemble

 Today was the third day of our practise, so our destination was Gavkushon ensemble. The Madressa Gaukushon was built in 1570 under the rule of the Uzbek khan Abdullah Khan II and had a traditional yard layout. The trapezoidal form of the building is explained by its location on the fork of the streets. Buildings in the Gaukushoon Square were built with the money of Sheikh Hoja Said, known under the nickname "Khodja Kalon" ("great hoja"), which is reflected in the name of the mosque and the whole complex. In 1598, from the north of the madrasah, a Friday mosque, called the Hoja Mosque, was built. Khodja Kalon is buried in the family necropolis of the Djuibar Sheikhs in Chor Bakr. Monuments that make up the Gaukushon Ensemble are built in typical of the XVI century technique - these are three-layer walls, mesh decorative arches, rude, bright majolica, tile mosaic.
